Sunday Bible lesson

God speaks to men through the Holy Bible:

The Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant word of God. It is the divine revelation of the creator of the universe…. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21). Jesus validated the authority of the Old Testament in many passages…. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished (Matthew 5:18). Everything necessary for man’s faith and practice is either explicitly clear or by logical deduction may be ascertained from The Holy Bible. The Bible is the only source for determining the counsel of God concerning faith and practice, and nothing is to be added whether by new revelation or by Church tradition or dogma…. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! 9As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned (Gal. 1:8-9)! Scripture alone is to decide all disagreements or controversies within the Church ….And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is at work in you who believe (1 Thess. 2:13). More than one false religion has been started by men who have adopted other books, which they claim to be of equal or greater authority than the Bible. This has even happened in the United States in our short history. To believe and affirm the truth contained in The Holy Bible does not leave any room for acknowledging any other way to approach God. To do so is to deny the clear teaching of the Holy Bible (John 14:6, Acts 4:12).

What a great quote. Too often we let tradition, personal opinion and agendas create the controversies and then fail to let the Word of God settle them.

Gordon,
Of the five sola's, I think sola Scriptura is the foundation. It is no accident that it is my Photo Meditation #1.

I Really like your outer space logo. Thanks for the comment.
