Romans 8:34

Romans 8:34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died--more than that, who was raised--who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.

The pentagon, shown in the photo above, is a symbol of American military might that is always ready to intercede and defend the United States. This is a comforting thought for the temporal concerns of Americans, but this military might is not able to perfectly protect and defend Americans as we saw on
911.

However, on a spiritual and eternal level there is one interceding for us that is perfect and perfectly performs his role as a mediator. We are in union with Christ, and no one can successfully condemn those that are in Christ Jesus. There will be no spiritual 911s for those who stand upon the solid rock of Christ. There can be no condemnation because Jesus paid the penalty for our sin by dying and then being raised, which proved that his atonement was worthy and acceptable by God the Father. Christ is seated at the right hand of The Father and is worthy and able to mediate on our behalf with the Father against any temporal or spiritual being who attempt to condemn. This point was made in verse 1 of this glorious chapter, and Paul is revealing more of the details here in verse 34.

Praise God that he provided a mediator that serves as our savior, prophet, priest, and king. This provides an eternal security that is fail-safe.
