Romans 8:3

Romans 8:3 For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,
Due to the sinful nature that mankind inherited from Adam, the law is powerless to save sinners. While the law is good, it is so weakened by the sin nature (flesh) that it has no strength to be effective. It is not the law that is weak, but the sinful nature of man that is incapable of fulfilling the law. The law accuses and condemns, but it cannot save. However, God has done what the law could not do. By sending his son, Jesus Christ, in the likeness of sinful flesh, he condemned sin. Jesus, being fully man and completely sinless was able to qualify as an acceptable substitute to pay the penalty for sin and thus condemn sin in fallen man. This satisfied God’s justice due to the infinite value that Jesus has by being fully God. The atonement was acceptable because of the human nature of Jesus and sufficient because of the infinite worth of his divine nature. Praise God that he provides everything that is needed to save sinners.

This salvation is given as a free gift for all that place their faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ.

Hmm...

I just picked up my copy of 'Cat & Dog Theology" by Bob Sjogren & Gerald Robison--The premise of the book is a contrast of cats and dogs, like humans, and how they relate to their master. Sad to say this Jazzy, but the book speaks of cats as existentialists(gasp!). Jazzy you oughta take a peek @ the book, for the sake of curiousity and make a theological assessment..

Thanks Mark and Craver...

Scribe,
Here is the difference between dogs and cats. Get your pencil and paper ready...........

The german sheppard dog Chief that I own believes that since I feed him, take care of him and give him medical care, that I am wonderful.

Jazzy and Cuffy the cats that I serve believes that since I feed them, take care of them and give them medical care, that they are wonderful.

I will have to get that book you mention.

Jazzy,

It is quite a "hoot"...definately makes for an interesting theological treatise. Here's a quote from the back cover of the book that falls along the lines of what you just said;"A dog says,'You pet me, you feed me,you shelter me, you love me, you must be God.'"

A cat says,' you pet me, you feed me, you shelter me, you love me, I must be God!"

lol...

Yes, people are pretty extreme on felines. They either adore them or dislike them.

In the first six months of this blog, Jazzy did most of the talking through the 'god like' attributes that you mention. I am going to create a link soon to some of her better musings and encounters with mice, Guard dog Chief, copperheads, PETA, etc....

Have a good day

Amen Jazzy! I think many people misunderstand this scripture to mean that we don't have to follow the law. As you said, the law is good, but it was never meant to save us. Rather it was to point us to our sin to show us our need for a Savior; that being Jesus.
