Psalm 100: verse 5

Psalm 100:5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

God is good, merciful, and truthful. These attributes will last forever and will never change. While this sounds simple enough, it is not universally accepted by all who claim to be Christians. While there is theological debate among Christians who agree on the truthfulness, inerrancy and infallibility of the Bible; there are many theological liberals and emergent church proponents that even deny the truthfulness of the Bible. Some emergent church leaders suggest that theology and truth is evolving and changing much like the so-called living and breathing constitution view of political liberals. While the presentation of such views are slick and articulate, the bottom line is nothing but conforming theology to fit a man-centered liberal post-modern world-view. The focus is on temporal concerns, which necessitates that theology must fit their world-view.

Jesus said, “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth” and Psalm 100 says this truth endures to all generations. Praise God that unchanging absolute truth is available in God’s word. This truth is powerful and sharper than a double-edged sword. May we have eyes to see and hearts to rejoice in the transforming truth of God’s Word.

I love your relentless and fearless stand for truth.

What makes us love the truth so much?

I would have to say it's the Spirit of truth.

Thanks for true words about truth.

"... the Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father, He will testify of me" John 15:26
" .. the Spirit of truth: whom the world cannot receive, because it sees Him not, neither knows Him: but you know Him; for He dwells with you, and shall be in you." John 14:17

Like I said before, Jazzycat, the liberals are the real enemy. :~)

When I think of truth, I think of a couple of quotes describing light: 1) Light means nothing to a blind man. -Tozer And 2) Light doesn't mean anything to those who aren't enlightened. -Plato

I have a new friend who has not acknowledged Jesus and the Bible as sources of light or truth. He said, Unlike religious ideology, science is a developing phenomenon, constantly under review and continuously modified as more and more evidence comes to light to support (or maybe reject) a current notion.

What my friend has not been able to see is that the God of the Bible and His revelation does not need the same kind of alterations or improvements. They are altogether perfect from the first moment we are introduced to them. If any changes need to occur, the changes must be in us, because we are not infallible.
