The bottom line is that the cure for global warming will be socialistic government control. That is the agenda here. The former leader of the UN even declared that global warming was so serious that nations should give up their sovereignty to effectively fight it. Well duh, what's wrong with this picture. The UN couldn't run a hot dog stand for starters and it goes down hill from there.jazzycathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16720471765591930568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18297904.post-2814907214010908922007-10-13T09:50:00.000-05:002007-10-13T09:50:00.000-05:00And the latter (global warming) is a religion hono...And the latter (global warming) is a religion honored by the world. For example:
1. Mr. teacher is natural selection a good thing? (if answer yes) then ask some tough questions on the things society does that runs counter to the survival of the fit concept of natural selection.jazzycathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16720471765591930568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18297904.post-21892950573207975702007-10-11T13:54:00.000-05:002007-10-11T13:54:00.000-05:00Justin says...Well not necessarily. They would say that God created the universe in such a way that it is fully capable of functioning on its own without God.

As for getting an atheist to accept deism, that's not so much my point. What I wanted to convey is that, as much as we would like it otherwise, theism and atheism are not the only options.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18297904.post-34153222892115158232007-10-11T12:49:00.000-05:002007-10-11T12:49:00.000-05:00Justin,Also......You do not have to leave your log...Justin,
Also......
You do not have to leave your logic and reasoning at the classroom door. While deism is certainly a possibility, it does not explain a beautifully designed universe. Someone that affirms a supreme being has to consider all of the wonder he sees and credit it to "it just happened" or either to just maybe the supreme being had a hand in the results. Which is more logical when you consider all the fantastic order and design that science has discovered? The burden of proof is just as much on them as it is Biblical Christianity.

They have already acknowledged a supreme being and yet they want us to believe he had nothing do with the magnifcience of the universe? Our response should be, show me.jazzycathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16720471765591930568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18297904.post-51338310343721410872007-10-11T12:16:00.000-05:002007-10-11T12:16:00.000-05:00Justin,If you can get atheists to admit deism, the...Justin,
If you can get atheists to admit deism, then you are well on the way to getting them to affirm intelligent design. Where did the stuff come from? is not the only weakness in evolutionary theory.jazzycathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16720471765591930568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18297904.post-70095922881678162592007-10-11T12:00:00.000-05:002007-10-11T12:00:00.000-05:00Justin says...You know, I am in AP Psychology righ...Justin says...

You know, I am in AP Psychology right now and we are studying evolutionary psychology. So I think this article is very appropriate for me. The thing that irritates me the most about it is that they (ie. the book and the teacher) just assume evolution is true. So, I am stuck in this section of the class: If I want a good grade, I need to make nice with the secular status quo and answer all questions in a naturalistic way. Argh!

But you know, while I agree with you, I think your arguments are too simplistic. What I mean is, you leave out the third option: deism. God created the universe, but then He leaves it at that. Of course that denies the Bible, but it would appease both sides of the debate: God created the universe (theism) but God lets the universe run on its own (secularism).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
