We all still have our battles Justin, Sin is our continuing enemy
1 John 1:8-10

If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

When we walk in the Spirit we can stop walking in the flesh.

Gal 5 16But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.
17For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.

The Lord has equipped us with

The belt of truth.
The breastplate of righteousness.
Feet fitted with the readiness of the Gospel of peace.
The shield of faith.
The helmet of salvation
The sword of The Spirit.
Prayer.

Justin, I will uphold you in prayer and ask if you would uphold me too. Let's stand firm together. *S*

CristinaBaptist Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07098324019181081925noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18297904.post-15581643673050194772007-09-29T22:50:00.000-05:002007-09-29T22:50:00.000-05:00Dear Swordbearer,I appreciate your concern, but I ...Dear Swordbearer,

I appreciate your concern, but I think you have missed the heart of my problem. I thankfully confess that Christ has absolved me of my guilt, but the problem is that I still commit sin. I hate doing it, but as much as I try not to, I return to the mud from whence I was washed. And then I am plagued with guilt because I think, "Justin, you are a Christian. Christians don't do this."

I am at a stage where I am trying to figure out what exactly I am supposed to do in sanctification and what God is supposed to do. I keep going from "not the labours of my hands can fulfill Thy laws demands," which leads me into antinomianism and contrastedly to legalism, where I try to santify myself through fasting, prayer, abstinence from TV and the like, and other stuff. But both of these have failed me, and I know that there is a balance in between that God needs to show me.

I openly confess homosexuality to be a sin, one of which I must be free of just as much as pride or greed. Yet I somehow repeatedly fall into lustful thoughts. God help me.

~~~
Wayne,
Any spreading of poetry is fine by me. Don't worry about links. If you add it, you add it; if not, then don't worry about it. Thanks for asking me, though.
Thanks for all your prayers, guys. We bet...God the same yesterday, today and forever. We better be willing to stand up for what is right.
We are to hate the sin and love the sinner. Some seem unable to separate this and think we have to either hate the sin and the sinner, or love the sin and the sinner. Neither of these are truth.
SusanSusanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11360047123820906113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18297904.post-44563936673028377052007-09-28T17:34:00.000-05:002007-09-28T17:34:00.000-05:00"For their women exchanged natural relations for t..."For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women"
Seems pure and simple enough, don't you think.
But it sure ain't.
Today, if a homosexual man, sees his sin, and repents, and says he wants to have a woman for his wife forever, then the world says to this man, that would be unnatural for you, and wrong, because your going against your passion.
Amazing!donsandshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03665794015011057098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18297904.post-78810697607168460312007-09-28T16:49:00.000-05:002007-09-28T16:49:00.000-05:00Cristina,Thanks and good points about the false pr...Cristina,
Thanks and good points about the false prophets. You are certainly correct that guilt can be freed at the cross of Christ……..1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Through prayer we can find forgiveness and strength to resist the temptations that all Christians face. You have been an encouragement to me and I will certainly keep you in my prayers.
BTW, I would like to post some of your poetry sometimes if that would be alright. It seems from what you've written (and from your blog) that though you are embracing some reformed teaching, that you are still struggling with guilt, and therefore may not have either dealt fully with God regarding previous sins, or may not fully understand justification, or the difference between sins being wiped clean through justification and the need to mortify sinful thoughts and actions through sanctification.
I write only with the intent to help you, for it seems at the same time you recognize homosexuality is a sin (in other words, you said you wish you could say it wasn't ... so you must believe it is); yet at the same time you seem to still be carrying around some guilt... which you don't have to do if you will look to the atonement and full redemption in Christ.
If you would like to talk more about this privately, feel free to email me at timothymuse@gmail.com or call me at Brandon Presbyterian Church (www.brandonpres.com). I'd like to talk with you as I think I can help you deal with this quandry.All Things Reformedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07921579806367678328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18297904.post-87459289581811567072007-09-28T14:03:00.000-05:002007-09-28T14:03:00.000-05:00Justin says...I would sure like to say that homose...Justin says...
I would sure like to say that homosexuality is not a sin (because that would take a lot of guilt off of me), but the Word of God constrains me of the guilt I carry and can only be freed of by the Cross of Christ.
Christians must, must, must!!! remain faithful to God's Word. Politcal Correctiness is just another one of Satans Tools.
And because lawlessness will increase, the love of many will grow cold. Mat 24:12
For false christs and false prophets will be raised up, and they will show great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Mat 24:24
But know this, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, not loving what is good, traitors, headstrong, having been puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from these people turn away! 2Ti 3:1-5
For there will be a time when they will not put up with sound doctrine, but according to their own lusts, they will heap up for themselves teachers, tickling their ears, and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to myths. 2Ti 4:3-4
knowing this first: that mockers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts.
2 Peter 3:3
CristinaBaptist Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07098324019181081925noreply@blogger.com
